Kit, founder of Kit Heath, started the company at the age of 18. His inspiration originates from memories of playing with his grandfather’s gemstones and as a student being taught metal work skills by his teacher, who inspired his imagination and entrepreneurial spirit. With this bag of enthusiasm he sought to show the world what he could do, however this involved him melting down the families silver candlesticks which went unknown till the following Christmas. We think he has been forgiven now. In his early 20’s Kit bought a jewellery shop in North Devon and would leave his young teenage sister Katie to run the shop during the week, while he went off selling designs to jewellers. Kit would park his VW Camper overnight at beaches in the south of England, designing jewellery in the evenings and surfing in the mornings! The business grew rapidly, with Kit and Katie sharing a common goal to create a national jewellery business based on beautifully designed jewellery inspired by the striking Devon coastline. The business that was once run out of Kit’s VW Camper, has now become an internationally recognised, quintessentially British jewellery brand, available in jewellers across the United Kingdom and the United States.
